Brewing Coffee: Utilizing the Pour Over Technique

Purpose: This project was prompted by a need for an instructional resource for those wanting to learn how make coffee at home with the specific pour technique that is used at Manchester Coffee Company. The instructional video designed to also be a training resource for new employees at the business. Below are some details about the development of the video, as well as access to the video script and storyboards.

Project Development

Phase One: Identify instructional goal and learning objectives

Instructional Goal - To teach learners how to make a 12 ounce cup of coffee using the Manchester Coffee Company Pour Over Technique.

• Objective One - To be able to list the six necessary tools.

• Objective Two - To be able to implement the three steps for setting up to brew.

• Objective Three - To be able to implement the three steps for brewing.

Phase Two: Storyboard and Script

Phase Three: Record and Edit

The third phase of the development was recording the video content and audio. This took some experimenting to ensure I was getting good lighting, stable footage, and clear audio.
