A little about me..

Hi! I am Emily, an Instructional Designer in Lexington, Kentucky. Most recently, I have been working on an Instructional Design team at a local University to develop a variety of self-paced learning experiences. Over the previous eight years I worked as a small business manager and trainer. In this role I honed my skills as a great communicator, collaborator, creative problem solver, training developer, and facilitator. As an Instructional Designer, I am passionate about collaborating with others to create learning experiences that are effective, engaging, and accessible to all!

My undergraduate education began focused on painting, drawing, and ceramics as a Studio Art major. With a change in interest I returned to school and completed my B.S. in Instructional Design in 2020. I also now hold an M. S. in Instructional Systems Design and Learning Technology with a certificate in User Experience Design from Eastern Kentucky University. My education has given me a strong skillset and understanding of Instructional Design principles, adult learning theory, accessibility, and multimedia tool development, while my studio art background gives me a strong visual eye for the design of instructional materials.

I have a deep love of learning and am not afraid of a challenge! I am currently continuing my pursuit of learning by developing skills in Front-End Web Development. When I am not working, I am often working on a pottery project, eating pasta, running outside with my dog, or hiking with my husband.
