A little about me..
Hi! I am Emily Tanous, an instructional designer in Lexington, Kentucky. Over the past 10 years I have been working as a small business manager and trainer, honing my skills as a great communicator, collaborator, creative problem solver, and training facilitator. I am passionate about collaborating with others and creating learning experiences that are effective, engaging, and accessible to all!
My undergraduate education began focused on painting, drawing, and ceramics as a Studio Art major. With a change in interest I returned to school and completed my B.S. in Instructional Design in 2020. I also now hold an M. S. in Instructional Design and Learning Technology with an emphasis in User Experience Design from Eastern Kentucky University. My education has given me a strong skillset and understanding of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, accessibility, and multimedia tool development, while my studio art background gives me a strong visual eye for the design of instructional materials.
I love learning new things and am continuing my pursuit of learning by developing skills in CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and the utilization of XAPI.
When I am not working, I am often working on a pottery project, running outside with my dog, or hiking with my husband.
